This is 58-year-old Joan Cunningham of Lakeland.
Joan was arrested by PCSO deputies on Wednesday morning, June 19th on a Polk County warrant from the State Attorney’s Office.
Joan’s recent trouble began on May 26th, when she was arrested by PCSO deputies following a single-vehicle crash near Drane Field Road and Waring Road in Lakeland.
At that time, Joan was determined to have been under the influence of some kind of substance.
She was arrested and taken to the Polk County Jail, where she was charged with DUI. During the booking procedures, a baggie containing a rock-like substance was found hidden on her body. That substance tested positive for lysergic acid diethylamide–more commonly known as LSD. Joan was additionally charged with the introduction of contraband to a detention facility and possession of LSD & drug paraphernalia.
Due to the amount of LSD she possessed, on June 14th the SAO upped the possession charge to a trafficking charge (7 grams or more) and issued an arrest warrant. The charge increased from a Felony 3rd Degree to a Felony 1st Degree. Joan Cunningham was taken into custody without incident and booked in at the Sheriff’s Processing Center.
