Let’s go Team USA! Did you know that in addition to the Olympics just a few days away, The Lakeland Aero Club members are in Ostrow, Poland representing the US in the Junior World Gliding Championships!?!
This event is sanctioned by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) World Air Sports Federation. The team from Lakeland includes glider pilot Steven Tellman and his support crew consisting of Qwest Hipps, Dallas Hurd, Kenneth Turbeville, and Matthew Turbeville.
This year’s competition includes 67 glider pilots from 21 countries and features speed and distance elements. Mr. Tellman is also the youngest glider pilot in the history of American competitors to qualify for Worlds!
