The Florida Department of Transportation will hold an open house Tuesday in Lakeland to provide information on the U.S. 98 widening project.
The open house will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Lake Crago Outdoor Recreation Complex’s banquet room, 525 Lake Crago Drive, in Lakeland.
The project includes widening U.S. 98 in Polk County from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided highway from West Socrum Loop Road/Hall Road to County Road 54 at the Pasco County line. Two roundabouts will also be built at Big Cypress Boulevard and State Road 471.
Shared-use paths will be constructed on both sides of the highway from Hall Road/West Socrum Loop Road to just north of Rock Ridge Road.
