Starting Oct 1, fees for the city of Lakeland water utility service will rise under new prices approved unanimously by the Lakeland City Commission on Monday.
That increase would be for a “typical” homeowner who has a 5/8” to 3/4″ meter and uses about 8,000 gallons of water per month, according to Director of Water Utilities David Bayhan.
That “typical” customer who lives inside city limits currently pays a combined $87.99 monthly for water and wastewater service. The new rate will be $91.43.

The city adopts rates in three-year increments, but each year it revisits the tentatively approved rate to ensure it’s suitable. Rates can be adjusted up or down.
