These pictures are being described as “post apocalyptic” by rescuers in the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock sections of North Carolina. Helene brought all facets of devastation. Wind and surge for Florida. This area dealt with extreme rainfall. Mountainous areas can accentuate the totals as in this case. Roads are gone. Travel is impossible. Just gut-wrenching.
