The Board of County Commissioners recently approved a $15.6 million contract with Whitehead Construction for the construction of a Polk County fire rescue training center in Bartow. The center will provide space to conduct fire and emergency medical services training. It also will accommodate the hiring and onboarding of new employees.
This project is being partially funded through the American Rescue Plan in the amount of $13.5 million.
