From the reports we have received, it appears Polk County Animal Control sent 1,037 cat corpses to Bio Corp in Minnesota in 2024.
Bio Corp’s website says: “Our goal is to provide you with a superior quality preserved specimens at the lowest price when you need it!”

The total receipt for the bodies was $10,370.00. Keep in mind this is not unusual as other shelters that kill for space do the same thing.

Better than their bodies just being thrown away.
This is why Polk County dosent have low cost spay and neuter programs, a tnr program, or an effective adoption or foster program at the county shelter. Theres money to be made in euthanising cats for science!
This is how your veterinarians and vet techs learn how to help your pets. I’m not condoning the loss of lives but for science it is necessary. Not to mention the population of cats is completely out of control.
