Paratransit operator Barbara Rogers hung up the keys for the last time today after 41 years of moving the residents of Polk County. In over four decades of service, she has transported generations of passengers.
The numbers are staggering. She has dedicated 4.1 decades, or 2,147 weeks, or 493 months or 15,034 days as a public servant.
Since she will no longer be in the bus, we made sure to honor her by putting her image and her accomplishment on the side of a bus. In addition, Lakeland Mayor William Mutz presented our transit hero with the Key to the City.
