Suspect Found Hiding behind Dumpster, Wanted on Felony Warrant for Burglary and Theft History
A Georgia man found hiding behind a dumpster after allegedly breaking a van window in Lakeland is now facing a trip back to his home state on an outstanding felony warrant.
Rodrick Levon Sippio, 38, was arrested in the early morning hours on Monday by Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies.
Deputies responded to a criminal mischief complaint at a residence on Captiva Point. The victim told authorities that Sippio intentionally broke her van window before fleeing the scene.
PCSO deputies quickly located Sippio, who was attempting to conceal himself behind a trash dumpster.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Sippio was wanted out of Coweta County, Georgia, on a felony warrant for Violation of Probation. While the specifics of his probation were not detailed in the warrant, his criminal record in Georgia reportedly includes prior arrests for burglary and theft.
Sippio was taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center, where he was booked on a charge of criminal mischief. Coweta County, Georgia, has confirmed they will fully extradite Sippio, meaning he will be transferred to Newnan, Georgia, to face his probation violation charges.
