She had been writing to 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 for years. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲. 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀.
One day she sent me a photo of a letter she had written.
𝗜𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱. It looked like it came from another era. I asked, “Did you use a typewriter?”
She said 𝘆𝗲𝘀.
Her laptop wouldn’t work. The printer failed. 𝗦𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁. She pulled out a typewriter and wrote the letter the old-fashioned way.
Because this is what 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆 looks like—not convenience, but 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
Linda kept writing. She kept believing her voice mattered. And to this day, she still writes letters. 
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀. One person. One letter. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝗽. 
𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀—𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱. 𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆.

Let me ask – did Bill ever respond? My guess is NO, since it’s my humble opinion he does not give a damn.
Unfortunately Mr. Braswell is not the only commissioner that doesn’t care about animal welfare in Polk county. Sheriff Grady Judd also doesn’t care about animal rights, nor the fact animal shelter doesn’t provide heat in Winter and no a/c in summer. Offices at shelter have heat and air. There is is BOCC meeting Tuesday, January 20 in Bartow. Several animal rights advocates speak at meeting.
