Brightline skips second bond payment

Brightline Trains Florida deferred a second interest payment on $1.2 billion of subordinate municipal bonds on Jan. 15, per Bloomberg. Ridership is running about 50% below the company’s projections, prompting S&P to downgrade the railroad’s bonds to junk status.
