A 55-year-old woman, Cresenciana Mazinis, was arrested in Polk County, Florida, following a violent hit-and-run crash on Sunday evening, March 1, 2026.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), Mazinis was driving a Honda CR-V at a high rate of speed in Winter Haven when she blew through a red light and two stop signs. She slammed into a motorcyclist at the intersection of West Central Avenue and 2nd Street NW.
Key Details of the Incident
- The Impact: The collision was so forceful that the motorcyclist was thrown onto the hood of Mazinis’ vehicle and carried approximately 25 feet before falling onto the pavement.
- The Escape: After the crash, Mazinis reportedly got out of her vehicle and walked away from the scene. Witnesses attempted to stop her, but she ignored them, later telling investigators she “had somewhere else to be.”
- The Arrest: Using descriptions provided by witnesses, Winter Haven police located Mazinis about two blocks away. She initially refused to provide information and was eventually taken into custody after a brief medical evaluation for a minor leg injury.
