The 21st Annual Historic Home & Garden Tour is indeed returning this Saturday, March 28, 2026. After a brief hiatus, the Lake Morton Neighborhood Association (LMNA) has organized a look inside some of Lakeland’s most storied residences.
Tour Details
- Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Registration closes at 2:30 PM).
- Starting Point: Florida Southern College’s Frank Lloyd Wright Sharp Family Tourism and Education Center (750 Frank Lloyd Wright Way).
- Tickets: $20 per person. Advance tickets are usually available online via the LMNA website, while day-of tickets can be purchased at the registration desk starting at 10:30 AM.
- The Route: This is a self-guided tour featuring approximately 9 to 11 locations, including historic homes, gardens, and at least one commercial building.
What to Expect
- Architecture: You’ll see a variety of styles characteristic of the 1920s Florida Land Boom, such as Craftsman Bungalows, Mediterranean Revival, and English Arts and Crafts Tudor.
- Transportation: While it is a walking tour, shuttle buses (courtesy of Florida Southern College) will run between predetermined clusters of homes to help cover the distance.
- The “Secret” Lineup: In keeping with tradition, the specific addresses of the homes are not revealed until you receive your tour brochure at registration. However, local buzz suggests the historic Mosswood Manor is among this year’s highlights.
- Accessibility: Note that many of these vintage homes have stairs or narrow porches, so not all interiors are ADA-accessible.
