Meet Caryss Silva, she is a sophomore at Harrison School for the Arts for visual arts, and is competing as a semi-quarter finalist for the Bob Ross Most Artistic Kid, where 100% of the proceeds go to Blood Cancer United. Caryss’s love for art began as a little girl. She taught herself by watching tutorials on drawing. Always excelled in art class. She attended summer camp at the Ashley Gibson Museum in Polk County, and her pieces were showcased at the museum every summer. In 2023, her art was showcased in the student surrealist art exhibit “The Shape of Dreams” at the Dali Museum. In 2025, she won a Gold Key for the Polk County Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. This year, she won a Silver Key and an honorable mention.
Who or what inspires Caryss to create?
Caryss is inspired by her visual art teachers and classmates at Harrison School for the Arts. She’s a sophomore and enjoys creating art to showcase at her school’s art gallery. She loves Art festivals, museums, and traveling. Her favorite museums to date were in Italy.
