“Morally or ethically proper!” Indeed.
The investigator I talked to about The Lakeland Electric Rebate Ripoff, “I can’t arrest the City of Lakeland. But of course it’s not ethical.” You know, to deny HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of people the rebates they deserve, a blind lady, a grandma whose grandson was in the NICU for five weeks, and all the other victims. City Attorney Palmer Davis refers to the Rebate Fund as the city’s “slush fund,” and they siphoned out almost $49k so they could save on postage costs instead of paying rebates, as the fund is supposed to do. The commissioners LAUGHED. Those who SHOULD CARE obviously don’t, which is truly unfortunate. But we’re in The Era of McCarleyism, where she and her minions have no dignity.
So in Lakeland, a Cesspool of Corruption, none of them care about “morally or ethically proper.”
