LAKELAND RESIDENTS: How would you like to pay an additional $400+ per year so a corporation that provides no benefits to the community can have electricity?

LAKELAND RESIDENTS: How would you like to pay an extra $400+ a year so a corporation that provides no benefits to the community can have electricity? Louisville, Kentucky, is currently dealing with the same kind of hyperscale data center issues that Lakeland is facing.

They commissioned a study of Virginia’s debacle of approving multiple data centers to be built in that state without getting all of the energy consumption facts.

Today, Kentucky’s Energy Planning Inventory Commission released its findings detailing that Virginia hyperscale data centers will increase the monthly cost of electricity for EVERY citizen of Virginia by up to $37 a month over the next 14 years.

That is an increase of $444 per year for each resident and a total of $6,216 over the next 14 years. That is for electricity that each of those citizens will never use.
