On October 27, 2026, at 12:47 a.m. Lakeland officers were called to a burglary in progress in a residential neighborhood. The caller saw two individuals walking together in the backyard of her neighbor’s residence and pulling on vehicle door handles.
The suspects were gone when the officers arrived, and a search of the surrounding neighborhood ensued. During the search, LPD K9 Oli alerted his handler to a shed in the backyard of a neighboring residence. The suspect, Armani Spriggs, was found hiding inside. With him was a backpack containing various items, including a handgun, two vape pens, cologne, a coin change purse, cash, headphones, and a flashlight. Spriggs also had a mask and glove in his pocket.
The second suspect was not located, but Spriggs admitted to several burglaries in which he obtained the property in his backpack. He was on probation and had a curfew of 6 pm. Spriggs was charged with two counts of Armed Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Grand Theft – Firearm, Use of a Weapon During a Felony, Attempted Burglary to a Conveyance, and Violation of Probation.
Most of the victims of this burglary spree were found, and their property was returned. We are grateful to alert neighbors who look out for each other and call us to investigate! Great job by everyone involved.
