Two Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers surrendered themselves to the Osceola County Jail following a major overtime fraud investigation.
The central figure in the investigation is Captain Lenita King, 63, who serves as the Orlando District 2 commander for FHP Troop D.
The Charges & Arrests
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office issued the warrants following an investigation into fraudulent overtime hours alleged to have occurred within the county.
- Captain Lenita King was booked on four separate charges:
- Organized fraud (defrauding to obtain property)
- Public servant falsifying documents
- Falsifying public or court records
- Grand theft (greater than $750 and less than $5,000)
- She is currently being held on a $30,000 bond.
- Trooper Maurice Vilsaint also turned himself in to the Osceola County Jail in connection with the same investigation, though specific booking charges for him are still being finalized.
The Florida Highway Patrol has not yet released a formal statement regarding the current employment status of either King or Vilsaint following their arrests.
