She did it! Representing the local area as Miss Manatee, Winter Haven native Alexandra de Roos has officially been crowned Miss Florida 2026.
Alexandra has been a dedicated competitor and advocate within the Miss Florida organization for years (having previously served as Miss Gainesville and Miss Tampa, and placing in the Top 15 at the state level). Beyond the sash, her backstory is incredibly inspiring: a former elite classical ballerina who trained at the School of American Ballet in New York, she had to pivot her career after suffering a severe concussion.
Now a double major in biomedical sciences and psychology at the University of Florida/USF honors track, she is using her platform to advocate for brain injury awareness, with the ultimate goals of becoming a neuropsychiatrist and running a post-concussion syndrome rehab clinic.
She will go on to represent the Sunshine State at the upcoming Miss America pageant!
