Today was a moment our TGH Aeromed team will never forget. 
We had the incredible privilege of joining Polk County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Ace for his clap-out from the Veterinary Medical Center at LWR as he reached another very special milestone in his recovery.
Both Aeromed medical crew members who cared for and transported Ace, along with Donny Richardson, the lead instructor of our K-9 Care and Transport Program, were there to celebrate this moment and see Ace take the next step in his journey.
And we certainly weren’t alone.
Ace was surrounded by an incredible show of support from multiple law enforcement agencies, the East Manatee Fire Rescue District, the amazing veterinarians from Parkway Veterinary Emergency Clinic, who provided his initial lifesaving stabilization, and numerous team members from the Veterinary Medical Center at Lakewood Ranch, who cared for Ace throughout his recovery.
Seeing so many of the people who played a role in Ace’s journey standing together to celebrate him was incredibly special. From the moment he was injured, this was truly a team effort, with one shared goal: giving Ace the very best chance at coming home.
We are so grateful for this positive outcome for Ace and his handler, Nat, and incredibly humbled that Aeromed was able to play a small part in his story.
Now begins a new chapter for this incredible K-9: retirement. 
Ace, you served bravely, protected faithfully, and gave everything asked of you. Now it’s time to enjoy the life you’ve earned.
Wishing Ace, Nat, and their family nothing but happiness, healing, and plenty of adventures together in this next chapter. It was truly our honor to care for one of our four-legged heroes.
