UCF Student Logs 600 Volunteer Hours at LVIM

That is a major milestone! Logging 600 volunteer hours at Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine (LVIM) is no small feat—it represents a massive amount of dedicated service to providing free, high-quality healthcare to the uninsured residents of Polk County.

Whether Sayra Granados is assisting with patient intake, working in clinical operations, helping out in the pharmacy, or providing administrative support, hitting 600 hours makes a tangible, lasting impact on the local community.

As a UCF student and a New Jersey native, Sayra graduated in just three years and is spending her gap year preparing for medical school. She discovered LVIM through a physician she shadowed. Sayra was immediately drawn to our mission and the opportunity to serve her community.

Why 600 Hours Matters at LVIM

  • Healthcare Impact: LVIM relies heavily on volunteer power to operate. Dedicated volunteers help keep operations smooth, ensuring thousands of patient visits and prescriptions are covered every year.
  • Community Value: For a community-funded organization, long-term volunteers represent tens of thousands of dollars in donated labor and expertise.
  • Recognition: Reaching high milestone tiers often qualifies volunteers for special local recognition, awards, or feature highlights in volunteer updates!
