We believe it is extremely important that the citizens of Polk County have the ability to comment on the news and issues affecting their county.
Today, the Polk County Board of County Commissioners voted to no longer allow comments on its official Facebook page. The information the county provides is intended for public consumption, and we believe residents should have an opportunity to discuss that information and share their opinions.
For that reason, we have decided to create an unofficial page that will mirror posts from the county’s official page. In doing so, we will allow citizens to comment directly on posts related to what is happening in Polk County.
We hope you will join us, follow the page, and lend your voice and opinion to the conversation.
