According to Gina Jacobi, Lakeland Electric’s assistant general manager for fiscal operations, she told city commissioners Monday that the city-owned utility may need to reevaluate whether current electric rates are adequate to cover its costs.
The utility will be tasked for the cost of a service study in 2020, which could lead to an electric rate increase.
