Incident Description
Approximately 3,000 gallons of raw wastewater seeped from a manhole and flowed into two nearby storm drains that feed a retention pond. Further investigation revealed the incident resulted from grease and rags in a gravity sewer line. The line was cleaned out and normal operation resumed. Approximately 1,000 gallons were recovered and properly disposed of in accordance with regulatory requirements. The affected area was treated with lime for disinfection. Signs will be posted and samples from the pond will be taken in the next few days. Clean-up action was completed at 2:30 PM on August 4, 2019.
