Southeastern will begin the 2019 football season with a preseason Top 25 ranking in the AFCA NAIA Top 25.
The Fire checked in at 19th in the poll released today.
SEU posted a 7-3 record in 2019 and were ranked 21st in the final coaches’ poll last season. The Fire are one of five Mid-South Conference teams ranked in the Top 25, and are the lone Sun Division team ranked.
The poll is voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each conference that has at least four members.
Southeastern returns 20 total starters in all three phases of the game.
Fire opponents in the poll include Georgetown (9/21) at No. 21, as well as Ave Maria (10/5) and Campbellsville (9/7), which are in the receiving votes category. Southeastern will host all three of these teams.
The 2019 season begins with Campbellsville at Victory Field.
