Florida Southern College women’s basketball has added an exhibition contest at Florida State, head coach Betsy Harris announced on Wednesday. The Moccasins will travel to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
“It’s a really exciting opportunity for us to go and play at Florida State,” Harris said. “It will be a great experience, especially for a young team like ours, to go and play in a big-time college basketball environment.”
Florida Southern and Florida State have not met on the hardwood since Feb. 7, 1980, a 97-58 win for the Seminoles in the only meeting ever between the two programs.
The Moccasins are coming off a 30-4 record from last year, which included a South Regional runner-up finish to go along with SSC regular-season and tournament titles. FSU went 24-9 a year ago, including a 10-6 mark in ACC action, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after a first-round win over Bucknell.
