After a six goal performance a week ago, fifth-year senior Jake Van Der Luit was voted as The Sun Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week by the league office this afternoon.
Van Der Luit netted five goals in a 9-2 victory away from home on Thursday at Talladega College, and followed that up by scoring the first goal of the game in a 3-0 win at home Saturday against Brewton-Parker College. These goals put his season total at 10, and his career total at 45. This is the first time this season Van Der Luit takes home the award, and third time in his career.
The No. 18 Fire are currently 5-0-1 and open conference play on September 25th at home when they take on Webber International University.
