Throughout our history, it has become evident that society is constantly evolving. In the upcoming installment of FSC’s Florida Lecture Series, R. Fred Lewis, Justice of the Florida Supreme Court (Ret.) and 1969 alumnus of Florida Southern College, will address the challenges that threaten our Republic and the institutions designed to protect our fundamental freedoms by consistent observation of the Rule of Law. He will lecture on “The Responsibility for Sustaining Our Republic under the Rule of Law” on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. in Branscomb Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. Lewis is the new Eminent Professor of Law and Letters at FSC, bringing with him the Justice Teaching Program, which he created while serving as Chief Justice. The Justice Teaching Center for Civic Learning establishes a statewide, non-partisan resource unique to law-focused civic education programs, partnerships, and practices.
