The Florida Southern women’s swimming team closed out the 2019 Shark Invitational on Saturday morning, finishing in 5th place as a team with 317 total team points. The two-day event was hosted by Nova Southeastern University. After Day One, the Mocs were in fifth place with 151 team points.
The host Sharks won the Invitational with 1148 total points. Florida Tech rebounded to finish second (558 points), followed by Keiser in third place (494), Lynn in fourth (470), Florida Southern fifth (317), and Savannah College of Art and Design sixth (268).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The 200-medley “A” relay team of junior Maria Di Bella, and freshmen Emily Drabick, Sandra Miclaus, and Danielle Williams placed fifth in 1:52.43
- Florida Southern placed two swimmers in the top ten of the 1000-free, with freshman Morgan Misenar placing sixth (11:02.26), and Erin McCann eighth (11:07.77).
- In the 100-back, Grace Sill place seventh with a time of 1:02.11, while Mallary Meyer placed tenth, finishing in 1:02.69.
- The 100- butterfly saw junior Kimmy Chang and Miclaus place sixth and seventh in 58.93 and 59.02, respectively.
- Drabick captured ninth place in the 100-breast in 1:10.51.
- Freshman Annalise Eisold placed eighth in the 400-IM with a time of 4:47.92.
