The 2019 MIDFLORIDA Auto Show and Lake Mirror Concours was NOT a washout today

With TS Nestor approaching Florida night. By 11 am it stopped raining and thanks to some fast planning and execution by Jeff Broadus of MidFlorida Credit Union and the City of Lakeland the show went on as planned with the use of the Orange and Iowa parking garages.

This was the first time it rained in 20 years on this event since Ford Heacock’s original Lake Mirror Classic has evolved to incorporate a downtown car show in 1999.

Though the ultra-rare Huayra, a 2.5 million-dollar mid-engine supercar produced by Italian automaker Pagani was not here we still got to see Foreign Sports Cars, Domestic Sports Car, Ferrari, Late Classics 1938-48, Muscle Cars 1962-72, Pre-War Classics 1925-37, Pre-War Production to 1942, Post-War Production to 1966, and some new cars and trucks thank to a few dealers.

The Honorary Chairman for this year’s MIDFLORIDA Auto Show and Lake Mirror Classic is Al Wiseman, the Tarpon Springs collector who displayed 25 cars at the first show in 1999 and has continued to share his vehicles over the years. This year, Wiseman will display two cars, a 1957 Chevrolet Cameo pickup with modern updates and a 1931 Ford Phaeton.
