Julia Rohm etched her name in the Southeastern University record books as the women’s cross country team had its best finish at the NAIA National Championship in program history.
The sophomore became the first cross country All-American in school history by placing 22nd in a time of 18:29 at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
As a team, the Fire placed 14th at the national championship; its highest finish in program history.
Southeastern had a strong showing from its underclassmen with two freshmen and a sophomore following Rohm across the line. Madeline Scherer was 90th overall in a time of 19:24, and Makenzie Johnson was 114th in 19:32.
Freshman Emma Woltjer placed 134th in a time of 19:41, and junior Kelsi Ogilvie rounded out the top five in 159th in a time of 19:49.
Raeanna Pabon placed 224th in 20:29 and was followed by Macy Peterson in 258th in 20:41.
On the men’s side, freshman Alan Romero was 216th in the 8 K in 27:19 with Stephen Ward 318th in 30:01.
