Florida Southern College is excited to join with MIDFLORIDA Credit Union for the official unveiling of the College’s new, high-tech video scoreboards in Streamline Sale Arena at the George W. Jenkins Field House. A special halftime presentation was held on Wed., Jan. 22, as FSC’s men’s basketball team takes on the University of Tampa.
The new video scoreboards, which were installed in November, replaced the existing boards located on the north and south walls of the facility. Funding for the new video boards has been provided by MIDFLORIDA Credit Union, which has served as the primary scoreboard sponsor in Jenkins Field House since 2003.

Many of our associates have attended Florida Southern for their graduate and post-graduate degrees, which has helped strengthen our workforce. Our support for this hometown college has been longstanding and we are pleased to help add this exciting scoreboard to the Mocs’ athletics program.”
The new video boards include two full-color LED displays with the capability to run in-arena ads and replays, and to connect to live stats and live video feeds. The boards were built by Nevco, one of the nation’s leading scoreboard manufacturers with more than 100,000 installations worldwide.
“This is a fantastic addition for Florida Southern College and for our program,” said Mike Donnelly, men’s basketball head coach. “The new video boards certainly bring a ‘wow’ factor to games and help create an exciting environment.”
The video board on the north wall measures 16.5 by 10 feet, all of which is to be dedicated to video. The video board on the south wall measures 12 by 8 feet, with the lower portion featuring a traditional scoreboard and the upper portion dedicated to video.
“We absolutely love the home court advantage that the video boards provide for us,” said women’s basketball head coach Betsy Harris. “Our fans, student-athletes, and campus community have responded extremely positively to the new changes, and it really creates a great atmosphere.”
In addition to the video boards, Florida Southern also received new shot clocks, scoreboard consoles, and a touch-screen laptop with Nevco’s Display Director software, which allows production staff to organize stats, headshots, graphics, animation, ads, and more in a simple platform.
