Josh Wagner won the 1,000 meter and 3,000 meter events on Saturday as Matt Faller set the School Record in the Shot Put at the Embry-Riddle Indoor-Outdoor Challenge in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Faller and Koltin Driscoll made history for the Mocs as they recorded the first two throws for shot put in school history. Faller finished 12th on the day throwing 12.05 meters whole Driscoll ended 22nd, throwing 9.71 meters.
Wagner set the sixth-fastest time in school history with his 2:38.84 performance in the 1,000 meter and the fourth-fastest time in school history in the 3,000 meter (8:42.79 – PR). William Lynch also set the record for tenth-fastest time in school history with his 2:44.91 performance in the 1,000 meter.
The 4×800 meter relay team of Nicholas Carpenter, Alex Guy, Brian Martin, and Brady Zimmerman finished second with the second-fastest time in school history (8:10.40).
The team has some time off before returning to action next month in the UT Track Classic in Tampa, Fla. on Feb. 21.
