In a report done for B&S Ranch and Farm by Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions (Wood project #301034), it talks about H2S – Hydrogen Sulfide.
OSHA rules state you cannot be exposed to more than 20 parts of million (ppm) in 8 hours, but when Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions test the Biosolid Lagoons the H2S — Hydrogen Sulfide in test at 272 ppm and tested again the next day it was 292 ppm. Tests happened on Aug 14 and 15 2019.
And this can and will kill you, period. This is why all the neighbors are complaining about odor issues all the time.
Time after time B&S Ranch and Farm Attorney’s state there is NO odor issue or they blame other companies or the county.
In the B&S Ranch and Farm original permit, it states – No odor or water shall leave the property.
Now photos take 2019 by Polk County show water leaving the property heading towards Lake Hancock (the headwaters of the Peace River).
So what is being done about this? Probably some fines and they’ll be allowed to continue doing this? Outrageous, why aren’t our city officials doing more and why did they let them put this facility in our city in the first place???
This is outside the city limits its a Polk County commissioners issue but it seems that they will not do anything about it
From what I have heard, Polk County is permitted to dump their sewage free of charge at BS Ranch. If this is indeed true, not a damn thing will be done about the noxious odor at the local level. The County saves a bunch of money, and BS gets carte blanche. This needs to be elevated to a higher authority. I live within a few miles of BS and can attest to its horrid stench on a daily basis.
