Congratulations to our five newest firefighters! They successfully completed their new-hire orientation program on Friday, May 1, 2020!
They have undergone several grueling weeks of training to learn the “Lakeland” way before being released to work at their respective stations, across three separate shifts.
The training and hard work doesn’t end here! The #Rookie firefighters will now continue their learning through the department’s Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) Program where they will undergo skills testing on a range of subjects over the next year. They must successfully complete this before transitioning to becoming regular status firefighters.
