The City of Lakeland will soon begin work to restore approximately 185 linear feet of eroded shoreline on the south side of Lake Beulah. The project is a continuation of an ongoing shoreline improvement plan for Lake Beulah.
The restoration and stabilization project will include the use of Filtrexx technology. Filtrexx’s patented mesh “soxx” (mesh tubes) will be installed along the eroded shoreline; filled with composted material suitable for growing vegetation, and then covered with sod. The result is a natural-looking shoreline that will be protected from future erosion. Filtrexx is the industry leader in sustainable technologies especially designed for stabilization applications. The company offers a wide range of reliable stabilization and erosion control solutions used throughout the globe. The project cost is $10,777.00 and is scheduled to begin in June 2020. The project will take approximately two weeks to complete. The eroded shoreline area is adjacent to a multi-use path that is frequently used by citizens.
