FSC Attorney Robert Puterbaugh sends Lakeland Gazette and it’s parent Cloud 9 Entertainment Inc a Cease and Desist Letter for Trademark Violations.
This is interesting because there are NO Trademark Violations. Lakeland Gazette or it’s parent Cloud 9 Entertainment Inc is claiming the logo for themselves.
We wrote an article about the FSC on Aug 22, 2020, https://lakelandgazette.info/news/2020/08/22/florida-southern-college-money-or-students-vs-covid-19/ and used the College logo in the article as we have done 100’s of times in the past 18 months.
But in Puterbaugh’s letter, it starts: “This letter is to demand that the College’s Mark be immediately removed from your internet posting and websites and not be utilized by any of you at any time in the future without the express written permission of the College”
What Mr. Puterbaugh does not understand we got the logo originated from the marketing department of FSC with the free understanding that The Lakeland Gazette my use the logo.
Mr. Puterbaugh needs to understand there is a thing call freedom of the press.
The issue is not the logo it’s the article that why can not attack. What is FSC hiding?
This College needs to stop threatening parents, students, and now newspapers and grow up and fix the issues.
