This year, the need is greater than it has ever been for us to raise more than just a glass for our community – and the Lakeland Margarita Society has two ways community members can give back this holiday season.
While The Lakeland Margarita Society is greatly disappointed that our annual Margarita Ball event will not go on in person as planned, our board has orchestrated some creative opportunities for community members to still help make this Christmas season a little brighter for the underprivileged children in our community.
This year, we continue to support our local restaurant sponsors who have supported the mission of LMS. Our “Raise a Glass” contest encourages community members to visit these local establishments as a
thank you for all they do, plus a chance to be entered to win two (2) Club Level tickets to see the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena during their 20-21 season.
“In reaching out to our generous restaurant sponsors to gauge interest this year, it became even more apparent just how much the pandemic had significantly impacted them,” said Margaret Parry, event
coordinator. “We could not think of a better way to say thank you for all you’ve done for our community during this time than by showing up for them just as they have shown up for us year after year.”
To participate, contestants should pick up a FREE event “passport” (available at Tuckers Southside Package and Lounge, 1122 Florida Ave S, Lakeland, FL 33803). Contestants will work to visit each location listed within the passport. To be eligible for entry into the ticket drawing, contestants will need to visit at least six locations and submit proof of receipt upon turning in their passport.
The event is running now until December 24, 2020. The winner will be announced on December 30, 2020.
One opportunity 2020 has provided us is the chance to pivot, adapt, and remain resilient in the wake of COVID-19. It is because of people like you that this holiday season will be no less joyful on Christmas
