Service begins April 1 from the Gow B. Fields Park and Ride
The Gow B. Fields Park and Ride facility on US 98, near I-4, will expand its service as a multimodal transportation center Thursday, April. 1 as Citrus Connection proudly partners with FlixBus USA bringing a new travel alternative to the Sunshine State.
FlixBus has 80 destinations in 11 states. Internationally, FlixBus has more than 400,000 daily connections to 2,500 destinations in 35 countries. The expansion in Florida and particularly Lakeland, provides service to several destinations between Lakeland and Miami.
“We’re excited to welcome FlixBus as a transportation partner offering another transportation option for the residents of Polk County,” said Citrus Connection Executive Director Tom Phillips. “This partnership opens another avenue of multi-modal transportation connecting people from our Gow B. Fields Park and Ride facility to locations throughout Florida.”
FlixBus will make two stops per day at the Gow B. Fields Park and Ride on Mondays and Thursdays through Sunday. The route that goes from Orlando Airport to Miami-Fort Lauderdale will stop in Lakeland at 9 a.m. Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and 10:15 a.m. on Sunday. The bus will also make stops in Tampa, Sarasota, Fort Myers, Downtown Miami, Miami International Airport, and Fort Lauderdale Airport.
On the return trip from the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area, Flix Bus will arrive at the Gow B. Fields Park and Ride at 2:25 p.m. Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 4:25 p.m. on Sundays. FlixBus will make stops Miami International Airport, Downtown Miami, Fort Myers, Sarasota, Tampa and Orlando.
FlixBus customers will need to get fare information, buy their tickets, and plan a trip online at www.FlixBus.com. Tickets for FlixBus trips will not be sold by Citrus Connection.
