Incident Description
On April 16, 2021 at 5 PM we received a call about water bubbling up from the ground. Upon arrival it was determined that a resident while driving a tent stake into the ground hit a 4″ sanitary sewer forcemain. The flow from the forcemain was intermittent. A vactor truck crew along with a pipe repair crew were called to contain the spill and fix the pipe. The flow was stopped and the forcemain repaired at 8 PM that evening. It is estimated that approximately 200 gallons was spilled and 150 gallons was recovered. The remaining 50 gallons soaked into the soil in the area. The area was limed and washed down. There was not impact to surface waters.
