#Congratulations to the Lakeland Fire Department’s newest #Paramedic, Felix Lopez! Felix has successfully completed the long and arduous training, testing, and approval process to become a paramedic.
It’s a difficult journey that lasts approximately two years, all while working full-time with the #LakelandFireDepartment. New Paramedic Lopez was officially released to practice in the field on April 27, 2021, after being cleared for practice by the #PolkCounty Office of Medical Direction.
There are now 70 practicing paramedics at the #LFD (of the 171 emergency response personnel, all are EMTs or paramedics in addition to being firefighters). The department’s paramedic to #EMT ratio is one of the highest in the region; it’s just another way #LFD can provide consistently superior emergency services to the community it serves.
