REPORTS TO: Chair of the Dept. of Criminal Justice, Chair of the Dept. of Psychology & Counseling, with additional direction and oversight provided by the Dean and Administrative Coordinator of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Some college
- 2-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate
- Proficiency in various software programs such as Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive Suite Applications and Web-based programs in general
- Able to communicate and relate effectively and professionally with faculty, staff, and students in an academic setting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail, while being able to manage a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Well-developed organizational and administrative skills
DUTIES AND OTHER JOB-RELATED ACTIVITIES
Performs routine administrative duties including:
- Provide daily on-site office coverage to assist with the needs of internal and external constituents to include faculty and student employees within the supported departments.
- Process all visitors coming to the office, including assisting students and faculty daily.
- Obtain mail from the mailroom and distribute it to faculty.
- Process office incoming/outgoing correspondence for the Dept. Chairs.
- Assist faculty with SEU systems as-needed.
- Answer office telephones and handle calls accordingly.
- Assist with appointment schedules for Dept. Chairs.
- Scan and archive documents for the Dept. Chairs.
- Type and photocopy/scan as directed by the Dept. Chairs.
- Make SEU campus room reservations for the departments.
- Prepare and submit purchasing card transactions and expense reports for department personnel including weekly allocations and monthly reporting of purchase card transactions.
- Monitor each department’s operating budget accounts and report to the Dept. Chairs and Office of the Dean monthly.
- Maintain inventory and purchase office supplies for the departments.
- Place all bookstore and desk copy orders for the departments.
- Work with department chairs to submit textbook adoptions to the bookstore.
- Process all expense-related forms for faculty with the departments.
- Use the student information systems to request information, generate reports, and research issues.
- Assist Dept. Chairs in the preparation and submission of annual course schedules.
- Coordinate meetings for internship coordinators, faculty, and students as needed.
- Ensure minutes for department meetings are recorded accurately and distributed in a timely manner.
- Assist in extra-curricular activities, such as student club activities, departmental field trips, and/or other events.
- Assist faculty in booking any department-related travel arrangements (including flight, hotel, transportation, etc.).
- Assist internship coordinators in preparing for training sessions.
- Assist Dept. Chairs with tasks specifically related to accreditation. This may include working on such projects as:
- Assisting in the completion and submission of documents related to accreditation.
- Collecting and tabulating data for program assessment.
- Coordinating travel related to accreditation site visits.
- Participate in CBSS Administrative Assistant Meetings as called by the Dean and/or Administrative Coordinator.
- Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by the Administrative Coordinator.
