The park is clean and the Model Citizens (employees are called that) were helpful and it seemed every guest we talked to agreed.
But one thing was very noticeable not all the foodservice places were open on a busy Sunday Memorial weekend but the ones that were had extremely long lines.
The Model citizens that the Lakeland Gazette staff purposely talk to seem to know want is going on and especially then they had to close down the water park and some rides due to weather, lighting.
What we thought was totally unacceptable item is this.
When LEGOLAND purchase the property the corporation agreed to keep some of the Cypress Garden charms. But the area is dirty, overgrown, broken, and 110% unacceptable, even the 100-year-old Banyan tree was sad-looking.
Cypress Garden area should be treated and maintain as well as the most expensive ride cost they operate. And most of the MODEL Citizens (Employees) we talked to agreed with that.
They the MODEL Citizens (Employees) really what that old-time charm to be rekindled by LEGOLAND ownership and management.
Wonder why, LEGOLAND is a young family entertainment park and for that they do a great job! On the Cypress Garden, this is the response back when we questioned about the Cypress Garden side of the park.

At LEGOLAND Florida Resort, we love celebrating the history of Cypress Gardens, and we take our job of preserving the botanical gardens seriously. Recently, we’ve made significant investments in the gardens, including new seawalls and restoration of the iconic gazebo, fountains, and docks. We also recently built a new observation deck for our guests to enjoy this beautiful area of our park. Our seawall project will continue over the next several years. We partner closely with Polk County to ensure we’re operating at high standards. LEGOLAND also has a fulltime crew of dedicated landscapers who work yearlong to take care of the gardens.
Our historical banyan tree is in good health. We monitor this tree regularly and even added its own heating system for winter months to help protect it against freezing weather conditions.
We also continue to honor the Cypress Gardens traditions on Lake Eloise. As part of our 10th birthday this year as LEGOLAND, we opened a new water ski show that builds on the tradition set by Cypress Gardens—you’ll even see the iconic ski pyramid—with new watersports stunts, including a flyboard act.
The Lakeland Gazette staff was been to LEGOLAND twice in the last two years; we see a wonderful young family entertainment park in its 10thanniverasy and its new Peppa Pig Theme Park under construction.
But LEGOLAND Florida needs to keep and enhance and further improve the quality and the charm of the Cypress Garden area for years to come.
