Earlier today I shared that I was looking for some ideas for a new tradition that my son and I would share together on Mondays. Just he & I enjoying a meal together in restaurants we’ve never tried in Polk County… but it’s more than that. I had so many replies with suggestions, ideas, favorites, and great food.
I chose The Crooked Bass Grill & Tavern based upon feedback, suggestions and the welcoming engagement I received on the post by them. Tonight we enjoyed a great meal – seared ahi tuna for an appetizer, Matt had fried grouper with hush puppies and sweet potato fries and I opted for the grilled mahi-mahi served “on the bed” with a baked potato. Afterwards we enjoyed the orange cake and apple cobbler. Hands down GREAT meal. Service was top notch. But, friends… let me share this with you. When we arrived a booth had been reserved for us as offered by who I would know to be the owner, Tammy Bracewell.
When we were sat there was a sweet sign left as a gift for our inaugural mother-son dinner. Tammy pointed out that her idea behind the gift was for him and me to note the date, restaurant name and location to commemorate our time together building this tradition.
This small token of thoughtfulness sure gives me a lot of hope in the community in which we live, work and play. I’m so proud that this is where our tradition began and am grateful for the kindness shown to us. Y’all, it’s worth the drive to Babson Park.
The place will please you and you leave planning your return trip. This is what our community is really all about. I Love Crooked Lake Grill & Tavern! Tammy, thank you. From the bottom of my heart. It means the world to me and I’ll never forget this kind gesture. You are remarkable.
