This year’s 5th Annual Fallen Heroes Memorial 5K will also honor and commemorate the lives lost on September 11, 2001, along with the law enforcement officers who lost their lives this past year. We hope you will join us on this day to honor the lives lost and celebrate the service of the many first responders who serve today.
Registration is still open at: https://tinyurl.com/34jkv7d8Our medals this year continue to honor our LakelandPD Fallen Officers and will also pay tribute to the 20th Anniversary to lives lost during the attacks that took place on September 11, 2001.
EVERY participant will receive a finisher medal that includes the Pentagon shape, outline of the Twin Towers, and icon for Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania. Also shown are our traditional Honor Guard Officer and seven badges, one for each fallen Lakeland Police Officer.~RACE
UPDATE~The Fallen Heroes Memorial Race team has been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 cases in our area and we have come to the decision that it would be in the best interest of all our participants to cancel the Race Village/Awards Ceremony for this year’s 5K.
As such, we will be extending the staggered start of the race to 90 minutes from 7:00 am – 8:30 am. There will be no single official start times or waves; runners will be allowed to show up during this time period, exit their vehicles and immediately run the 5K, which will still be chip-timed by FITniche. This will allow us to continue with this meaningful fundraiser while allowing for social distancing and limited contact.
