The final Mayoral candidate forum will be Friday, sponsored by the Republican Club of Lakeland and the Libertarian Party of Polk County.
Saga Stevin said she didn’t think it was fair for Bruce Anderson, who has expressed support for Mutz in the race, to serve as moderator.
James Ring, president of the Republican Club of Lakeland, said Monday that Stevin had not complained to him about Anderson’s role.
Ring, who publicly supports Mutz for mayor, has told the Lakeland Gazette that they will be using a substitute moderator for the mayoral forum, one Hardam Tripathi the Secretary of the Republican Club of Lakeland.
The candidates in the two City Commission races are also scheduled to participate, and Bruce Anderson will serve as moderator for those debates, Ring said. A committee will review questions submitted in advance and choose which to pose to the candidates, he said.
The forum begins at 5:30 p.m. at The Heights at Cleveland Heights Golf Course.
Saga Stevin believes that Lakeland is a city of opportunity for ALL Lakelanders, and she is running for Mayor to help keep it this way.

The last two debates really did not amount to a whole lot. Just a bunch of nice talk between the two candidates without a whole lot of serious issues being addressed, especially over the scamdemic issue. The Republican party will make sure that anything serious will be stifled as they control the questioning process.
If you look at what Saga is for and against, it is very clear where she stands.
It is also clear where Mayor Mutz stands.
Mayor Mutz listened to government and masked up and closed down Lakeland! Worst decisions ever made! Lakeland was selling masks with the swan logo on it. Did the city profit over this SCANDEMIC as the Rev called it? Where is the transparency?
Why did the Mayor and city take one lane away and back up traffic and spend TONS OF MONEY on concrete blobs?Who was the company and why was this done? One of the many BAD DECISIONS made for Lakeland!
Why was the 111 year old statue moved from Munn Park to a Cemetary in a black neighborhood when the black community supposedly complained that it was offensive? $225,000.00 of tax payers money given away for CANCEL CULTURE! Do people of color tell the mayor what to do and he says ok without thinking? The mayor did not listen to the majority who said DO NOT MOVE THE STATUE!
How many people are tired of this race baiting? Who cares what color people are!
God does not look at the outside, He looks at the heart and the intentions.
It is time to look at the heart of Lakeland and those making the decisions for Lakeland!
Mayor Mutz has wasted money and has been lying to all of us. He uses his christianity when convenient, and his family when convenient. No Mayor makes decisions on the color of the people and their groups. Decisions are made fiscally conservative to ensure that the city saves money, thrives, and grows. The city makes sure that we have a fully staffed and functional PD and FD. Small Businesses are the heart of this city.
There are no FREE HANDOUTS! Everyone needs to contribute and work for the good of this city. Wasteful spending of tax dollars hurts the residents and their taxes! Every neighborhood matters!

I too saw his daughter in the parking lot at the debate at the church on October 1. I was actually taken by surprise when I got out of my car. A girl with DS was there in a Mutz for Mayor tshirt handing out fliers. I looked around and saw no adults or anyone with her, then I saw the LPD car. I have no idea how old she is, but to me she looked to be a young teenager. I was concerned about her safety being alone in the parking lot and approaching total strangers.
I was wondering if Lakeland PD was there in the parking lot to watch over her since there no one from her family or the Mutz campaign outside with her. I am curious if LPD were there for her protection? Was this a taxpayer protection service?
Maybe these questions should be asked at the debate.
