More than 500 positions at Stryker Employment Company are being eliminated as the company prepares to close its Lakeland facility, which is located at 5300 Region Court, according to a company memo.
The memo states that the company will begin layoffs with the elimination of 26 positions on December 31, 2021. It goes on to state that 497 additional positions will be eliminated on a rolling basis by December 31, 2023.
The positions impacted include equipment technicians, production associates, senior team leaders, senior tool makers, and sorting associates.
Lakeland Florida is closing down in 2023. They plan on moving production to Phoenix, AZ, and Mexico. Goodbye good job with great benefits in Lakeland.
