So how many Lakeland city employees are NOT vaccinated for COVID-19?

The Lakeland Gazette recently asked Kevin Cook Director of Communications of City of Lakeland a few questions on COVID and the policy with employees of the city. Kevin’s answers are BOLDED.

3 How many employees have received two COVID -19 shots? COVID-19 shots and boosters are not information that is retained within City Risk or HR Records.

4 How many employees have received two COVID -19 shots and a booster? COVID-19 shots and boosters are not information that is retained within City Risk or HR Records.

5 How many employees have received their flex 2 day paid off?   799 employees have received the additional floating holidays by submitting proof of COVID vaccination.

According to Cook’s 799 number that equals 38% are vaccinated and have reported their vaccination to the city’s HR Dept.

City Memo Oct 15, 2021 – Vaccine Incentive Leave Days (Floating Holidays)

The City of Lakeland, not unlike the rest of our community, our nation, and our world, has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This effect to our workforce directly hinders our ability to provide services over the long-term, impacts our health care costs, and expands our overtime budgets. Our City values a culture of health and wellness. We know, through our health experts, that the best way to combat this pandemic is through vaccinations.

“To further encourage vaccinations, all full-time benefits-eligible employees who completed the full COVID-19 vaccination series (second dose for Pfizer and Moderna / one dose for Johnson & Johnson) and have voluntarily uploaded their vaccination card in PeopleSoft (instructions attached), sent a copy through interdepartmental mail or have hand delivered a copy to Human Resources by January 31, 2022 will receive two (2) vaccine incentive leave days (Floating Holidays). The Floating Holidays must be used by December 31, 2022.”
