Polk County Commissioners has adopted a plan officials hope will clean up the issues trash collection mess that’s rankled residents and commissioners for more than six months. 
The county has asked its contracted hauler FCC Environmental to temporarily stop picking up recycling from the 78,456 homes in its service area and focus all of its attention on household waste, yard waste, and bulk materials.
