Lakeland Fire Department (LFD) is excited to have 14 new #firefighters added to the roster. But before these certified firefighters are out in the field, they will undergo a month-long orientation program, which began earlier this week.
The new hires are filling vacancies from recent retirements, openings due to internal promotions, and newly added positions created to help alleviate staffing challenges for the department.
Based out of the #LFD Training Center on Lake Parker, these firefighters will be acclimated to their new roles and the expectations of the Lakeland Fire Department, which includes a full spectrum review of practical skills, scenarios, and emergency medical training. #LakelandFD
